I've just started the diet again after months working behind a desk and doing little exercise due to an injury, I've put on quiet a bit of fat. My goal is to go from 188 lbs. to 170 lbs in a month. One week in, I am at 183 lbs. already. Right on schedule!

The diet works like this. Only meat and vegetables 6 days a week. No grains or fruit. One day a week I carb load, eating whatever I want and as much as I want. I take vitamin supplements to compensate for the lack of fruit. It's tough to get used to, especially breakfast, but it works great!
You know you've contradicted yourself here. You say you can keep weight off with a "normal" diet yet every once in a while you have to go on a diet. This scenario is all too common. Statistics say 95% of all dieters regain their lost weight and then some.

In all honesty, this should probably be our normal way of eating: no of very few grains and sugars and very little fruit, lots of veggies, and lots of natural fats (read saturated!). The whole idea is that glucose drives insulin and insulin drives glucose into fat. When you drive glucose directly into fat, your body doesn't get sated and you make up for it. You never get to fully burn that fat off, and you gain. What's your BMI, 25%? 25% of the calories you eat
go directly to storage on a high carb diet. Think about it.

Exercise does very little for weight loss. Yes it increases your energy expenditure, but it also makes you hungry. Hunger wins eventually. Science is actually showing that fat drives inactivity. Inactivity doesn't make you fat. Dr. Lustig has shown with kids that when you reduce their insulin levels via artificial/medical means, they suddenly become active and start losing weight.

Vitamins? Don't waste your money.

Portion control and the amount of calories you intake definitely play a big role.
What people often do not consider is meal timing and combining proteins and carbs for your meals/snacks.
I suggest to all my clients that they eat three meals a day and two snacks. The two snacks consisting of a protein like yogurt and cheese and a fruit.
These two things will help in speeding up your metabolism and prevent your blood sugar from spiking. Overall helping you to lose weight.

I believe weight loss can be achieved with proper diet plan and regular exercise.
You need to maintain your diet regularly for weight loss and keep a eye on your calorie intakes everyday.
You also need to perform exercises daily for better health and body fitness.

Cool

You are right to very much extent but with that you can include several more techniques like drinking plenty of water or at least two glasses of lemon tea in a day.

Lightbulb Quebec Lose Weight

Hello to you all!!! After trying different diets, My doctor in Quebec, ( I am not sure I am able to tell his name here). I started a diet recommended by him called PronoKal, its a recent new product in Canada, but after some research it has a quit success in Spain. I started the diet July 5th with 216 Pds, And by my last visit to my doctor, i had a weight of 147 Pounds. I keep following the prescription and advice from my doctor, sometimes it's hard, and Christmas was a bit of a cheating time.
Honestly I feel very healthy with my diet but maybe sometimes afraid for the JOJO effect. Did someone had experience with this diet as found on http://www.pronokal.com/ , as the only forums I can see are all in Spanish which I dont really understand, or google translate has to help me.

Thanks, Marina from Montreal !!!

I agree that one should allow himself a pampering day,
where you eat thinks wich we are not allowed on a diet.
Maybe trying hard to lose some weight in the week and thats
some rewarding this one day, for me it works but i stay away from sweets, sugar, cakes, icecreme and chips. Instead cook something tasty with lots of herbal flavours.
I love my food!!!

Default The Serge Kreutz diet guarantees optimal health

The basic idea of the Serge Kreutz diet is to differentiate between the pleasure of food and the nutritional value of food.

Most people in Europe and North America are confronted with an constant oversupply of food that mostly addresses potential consumers' pleasure sensations.

We buy food and eat it because it feels good to have food in the mouth.

Yes, the pleasure is in the mouth.

The stomach and intestines have no taste sensations. Yes, the stomach does not want to be empty (drink plenty of water), but already just one step further, the intestines are more likely to react rather negatively on most foodstuffs, especially the delicious ones, as they more often are intestinal irritants, compared to simple foods like boiled rice .

After that, the liver does not want to be overwhelmed with nutrients, and obesity is a burden to anybody's health.

And don't forget that many of the swallowed foods can cause negative reactions, heartburn and allergies, or migraine, or insomnia, or elevated blood pressure, and yes, over some time, cancer, stroke, and heart attack.

Taste and other oral sensations are a plus of food, and beyond that, the effects of food are negative if more is supplied than needed for very basic energy requirements.

Remember, the life extension effect of low-calorie diets is well established.

But who wants to cope with food deprivation for years on end.

Me. And I am happy with it.

My mouth enjoys food to the fullest extend, and in substantial quantities. Just about anything that is appealing.

But I strictly control what makes it through me esophagus.

The ideal weight of a person is height in centimeter, minus 100, minus 10 percent.

My height is 182 cm, so my ideal weight is 74 kilogram. And that is what I am.

Easily. No effort. No disallowing my mouth what it wants to taste.

I just need plastic bags with my meals. After chewing my food, or rolling drinks in my mouth, the content of my mouth is discarded into a plastic bag, not my stomach.

Well, most of it. Because a small amount of food always slides to the throat, and from there into my stomach, together with the water I drink (several liters per day).

Therefore, those of my readers who want to use the Serge Kreutz diet for radical weight loss do not have to worry much about whether the Serge Kreutz diet is a zero-calorie diet.

Zero-calorie diets, of course, are not healthy. Zero-calorie diets also come with the risk of intestinal displacement. You should always take in some food.

The Serge Kreutz diet is not a zero-calorie diet. And it even is a balanced diet.

The small amounts of all food you eat will slide through your throat to your intestine, and that is about as much as you need on a Serge Kreutz weight-loss regimen.
