I have had exactly the same experience, don't believe these people who tell you a firm mattress is not good for you, the firmer the better as far as I am concerned. I saw a back specialist recently and he agreed, that a hard mattress was the best choice for my back.

Default Lower Pains

I think yoga is the best exercise to overcome the lower pains but if the exercises are done with help of yoga teacher then it might benefit a lot and can be cured very soon.

Default Back Pain Solution

I don't know how easy of a solution this is, but I've been reading about electrotherapy stimulators a little bit and I think that could be a good solution. Helpful?
