future heart attack

ive been having chest pains with pain in my left arm since june. the pain is sometimes felt in my neck and below the left eye.also recently a pulsing feeling in my right leg.
i went to emergency and had a EKG? and a chest x-ray done. they told me that i wasnt having a heart attack and hadnt had one either in the past.
i went to the doctor's a couple of days ago and he said that my blood pressure was slightly higher than last year.
im not sure if i should be ignoring the pain or keep going to the doctor's. he didnt really seem too concerned about it.
is this a warning sign of a possible future heart attack.
i've been thinking that i should take aspirin once a day.
