Default Has anyone tried Niacin or eating more protein for depression?

One of the symptoms of Niacin deficiency is depression. The body can make Niacin from the amino acid tryptophan (amino acids form protein). Now I don't mean to be crude here, but maybe some people here are lacking in Niacin or protein in their diet? Just trying to help.
