Exclamation "Uncomfortable" feeling in lower abdomen

My husband has been having what he describes as uncomfortable and annoying feelings in his lower abdomen. He says they are not at all painful and sometimes they are there and sometimes they aren't. A couple of weeks back he was complaining about feeling bloated. A couple of days ago he said this uncomfortable feeling moved into his "junk" as well as his lower abdomen. Today, he is getting shooting pains around his belly button. He is urinating quite frequently and says he has the urge to go alot more than usual. Could this just be a urinary tract infection or something else. He has no pain when urinating which makes me wonder...His dad has had (10 years ago) and now has again prostate cancer...should we be worried that these symptoms are something more than an infection? I tried to get him into his doctor today, but couldn't get an appointment for 2 weeks and he won't go to anyone else. What do we do? I would really appreciate any input anyone has...
