I have used online dating services and I am still using them to meet others and I have met some great people, and we did not mesh well together personality-wise. It takes at least a good 6 months or more to meet someone decent. I am not sure how long your friend has been on there. The only thing that I advice is have decent pictures, and the profile is written well in explaining what she is looking for. I hope that helps.
