Default High blood pressure cause?

I recently had to go to the ER and had my blood pressure checked upon arrival. It was 170/110.. I'm a 22 year old male and I'm very active and eat well.

This came as a surprise.. however, I was wondering how quickly your blood pressure can sky rocket.

I was in the ER in the first place because I severed two tendons and nearly cut off my left thumb at work. I work at a nightclub and I also had 2 energy drinks that night. Those, combined with a bit of shock (seeing the inside of my thumb and all), would they contribute to such a high blood pressure?

As I said I'm very active and eat well, I'd be very surprised if my BP really was THAT high. Any ideas?
